Math Team is MHS's place to explore the excitement of math to a degree well beyond what happens in the classroom.  We compete in regular competitions against schools in Cobb County and across the state.  Competitions are both based in teams and in individuals, much like a track meet.

What kind of math do we do?  Out of the box thinking for all the math you have done in school.  There are challenging problems covering anything as high as pre-calculus and as far back as basic arithmetic, and each problem pushes us to think about these maths in new and interesting ways.  There are two competition levels for Math Team: Varsity and Junior Varsity.  Typically, Accelerated Math 3 and above covers the Varsity level, while Accelerated Math 2 and below encompases JV.  Any student excited about math is welcome to the team, regardless of current math class or grade level.

When do we meet?  Thursdays after school in Mr. Throop's classroom, G115.  Competitions are usually on either Monday evenings or Saturday mornings.
